Sharon Quest Students
Throughout the second semester, Sharon Quest students have been learning how to create and design in TinkerCad as well as applying the engineering process to TinkerCad and our new 3D printer. The class started by creating small projects to learn the designing and printing process from start to finish as well as becoming familiar with the program. We then began to ask questions and brainstorm projects that would make daily life a bit easier in some way. The two most popular ideas were "portable mask boxes" (to keep a mask clean while we are eating as we always see them laying all over the table or falling on the ground) and cord savers for our phones, ipads, and chromebooks. Then, we created blueprints on graph paper and transferred those ideas to TinkerCad. We printed small prototypes to physically test our designs and learn what adjustments we still needed to make. After many reflections, we are finalizing adjustments and will make our final prints in the last few weeks of school.
